In 2013, the actor James Gandolfini agreed to drive a fire truck to Nepal alongside explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and the author. Following James Gandolfini's passing, the project grew exponentially, from one vehicle to twelve. Soon, efforts to deliver the first shipment of fire trucks met serious resistance within Nepal's bureaucracy. At the same time, a secret blockade of Nepal by India diverted the attention of the team tasked with bringing the fire engines to Nepal.
